Bad Weather – November 2021

North America 2021 Roadtrip #7: Supplemental Weather Update

So… I’ve had some bad luck with the weather heading east out of Vancouver. My trip spreadsheet is taking a beating.

First bad day was between Golden and Banff – 1000 other cars and me spent 13 hours getting through the mess of snow, unplowed minor highway littered with trucks in the ditch, stuck on hills and just plain stopped and driver gone to sleep. I had a bit of an exchange of bad words with a BC highway guy. Luckily everybody remained very Canadian – polite and waiting in line, walking up and down offering food and water to other cars, making snowmen while we sat not moving for hours. Absolute nightmare.

Second bad day was coming east into Regina. Clear skies early but turned to gusting snow turning to whiteout conditions. TransCanada highway shut down at Moose Jaw. I’m fine – food, water, full battery and in a nice unscheduled hotel for the night.

For you amusement I’ve quickly edited some of the video that the car took on the Tesla cam and two supercharger review videos that I made for Zac & Jesse at the Now You Know YouTube channel, specializing in Tesla news and supercharger reviews from around the world. I also made one video for Roberta at the mall in her hometown of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to give her some memories of her youth.

Enjoy!
